Decision-making was tough as far as choosing slide templates. It seemed that I really needed to have a concrete plan about each slide before selecting a template, because if I changed my mind about how many pictures I wanted to include, or where I wanted text to be placed, it was a hassle to redesign a slide without having to completely resize and rearrange everything. The process wasn't all that bad, though, once I got the hang of it. It really reinforced the importance of planning one's writing before writing the "final" draft, though! Great teaching moment!

Comics
Oh man, nothing reminded me more of how uncreative a person I am than this assignment! Although I know my students would love to use the animation technologies, I shy away from anything that involves innovation. I wanted to use pictures that I had saved on my computer, and the only subject that seemed somewhat entertaining was my guinea pig, Mr. T. (He was way more amusing in real life, however.)

Very cute! I understand what you mean about the formatting. I am just getting to mine and having that same issue. It is a good reminder about planning--you are right. However, I think some of my students who have a low tolerance for frustration might not see the 'fun' in the changes and reformatting that happen during a process like this.
ReplyDeleteCute story though! I like the variety of shapes of the pictures as well as your choice of text and color.
Nice job!
What a great idea! It makes your guinea pig seem like part of the family. Did you create several comic strips and then put them together in a movie? It effectively told the story.
